Perfect harmony in your home; the Feng Shui approach

Feng Shui, an ancient spiritual and scientific practice of life with Chinese origins, is moving into Western Culture interior design. It is all about harmony, perfect balance, spirituality, the promotion of positive energy and deflection of negative energy.

There are three levels of luck in Feng Shui:
Heaven Luck or Tien Chai is the luck that a person is born with. Destiny cannot be changed or altered.
Earth Luck or Ti Chair is the luck that is present in one's environment
Man's luck or Ren Chai is luck that occurs because of an individual's conscious efforts, such as good nutrition, exercise, wise investments, etc.
All three levels of luck are factored in when calculating correct Feng Shui.

The Chinese have long believed that everything in our environment, whether living or inanimate, contain energy and energy has an effect on one's life, whether in a positive or negative way. The practice of Feng Shui ensures that your living or home environment focuses solely on the emission of positive energy. This includes specific placement of furniture, the use of well chosen colors, use of houseplants plants and decorative objects in a well-planned, calculated method.

Chinese tradition looks at the laws of heaven and earth, also referred to as astronomy and geography, to help improve life by keeping the environment in harmony. They rely on the five Feng Shui elements; fire, earth, wood, metal and water, which are all sources of energy and Yin and Yang , which are complementary opposites within a greater whole to produce a most peaceful and harmonious environment. The combination of the five elements and Yin and Yang are known as Chi.

Not everyone can afford to have a professional Feng Shui designer evaluate their home and produce the proper Feng Shui architectural plan. Some simple steps, however, can provide you with a sense of peace and harmony, replicating what the Feng Shui approach is about. Organize your space. Remove clutter. Accumulated 'stuff' is a burden and a weight. This clutter can block positive energy flow.

Surrounding oneself with beauty; decorating with peace and harmony, gentleness, kindness, music and all good things in mind, will promote proper Feng Shui in the home, and it is believed this will provide the same positive energies in one's life.
